親愛なる友人、パートナー、そして主にある同労者の皆様、
Dear Friends, Partners, and Fellow Labourers in Christ,
クリスマスを祝うこの時、神が私たちと共におられること―「インマヌエル」を改めて思い起こします。2025年を振り返り、困難の中にあっても変わらず主が日本の教会と共におられることに励まされます。そのご臨在は、牧師たちが祈りで結ばれ、若いリーダーたちが信仰を胸に抱き、ビジネスパーソンが福音のための場を創り出し、教会開拓者たちが困難な環境で忍耐し続ける―こうした意味ある関係を通して輝いています。私たちが繰り返し目にするのは、イエスがご自身の教会を築き上げているという事実です。
本年、吉祥寺に福音中心のカフェがオープンしました。これは当団体のインテンシブ研修に影響を受けたリーダーたちによって始められたものです。このカフェは牧師、バリスタ、クリエイター、信徒が繋がる重要な場となり、まもなく新たな礼拝の場としても機能する予定です。この日本の働きが、ますます多くの「日常を生きるクリスチャン」を巻き込み、他教会も教会開拓に取り組むきっかけとなるよう祈っています。
首都圏から札幌、沖縄に至るまで、信頼の深まりと新たな希望が芽生えています。リーダーたちがお互いに祈り合い、より健全な福音中心のミニストリーを模索して歩んでいます。今年は6都市で9モジュールからなるインキュベーター月例トレーニングに80名以上のリーダーが参加しました。多くのリーダーが来年も追加の9モジュールを継続することを熱望しており、新たなリーダーたちがこの学びの場へ迎え入れられることを楽しみにしています。また、全国的な教会支援として「祈りの共同体」「信仰と仕事」「パラカレオ」「コーチング」などの取り組みを継続しています。
さらに、東京のベイライト教会、千葉のストリームサイド教会、埼玉のマスタードシード教会、佐賀の佐賀バイブル教会の設立を心から祝福します。今年前半にリディーマーCTCのリーダーたちをお迎えしたことは、日本人主導の教会開拓への決意を新たにする契機となり、福音という希望によって結ばれた世界的なムーブメントにおける私たちの立場を改めて認識させてくれました。
2025年を締めくくるにあたり、私たちは感謝と主への信頼に満ちた心でこの年を終えます。日本における課題は確かに存在しますが、それでもなお、私たちは主が今もなお働かれていることを目の当たりにしています。この旅路における皆様のお祈り、ご支援、そしてパートナーシップに心より感謝申し上げます。このクリスマスシーズンに、キリストのご臨在が皆様に喜びと安らぎと力をもたらしますように。また、新たな年を前に、2026年東京中心部で開催予定の日本インテンシブ研修へのお祈りやお力添えをお願い申し上げます。
As we celebrate Christmas, we are reminded that God is with us—Immanuel. Reflecting on 2025, I am encouraged that amidst challenges, God remains close to His church in Japan. His presence shines through meaningful relationships—pastors uniting in prayer, young leaders embracing faith, business people creating spaces for the gospel, and church planters persevering in difficult environments. Time and again, we see that Jesus is building his church.
This year, a gospel-centred café opened in Kichijōji, initiated by leaders influenced by our Intensives. This café has become a vital space for pastors, baristas, creatives, and believers to connect, and will soon host a new worship service. We pray this work in Japan will increasingly engage everyday Christians and inspire other churches to plant churches.
Across the Greater Tokyo Area and from Sapporo to Okinawa, a growing trust and renewed hope have emerged. Leaders are uniting in prayer and pursuing healthier, gospel-centred ministries. This year, over 80 leaders participated in our monthly training through Incubators, which consisted of 9 modules across 6 cities. Many are eager to continue with 9 additional modules next year, and we look forward to welcoming new leaders into these learning spaces. Initiatives like Prayer Cohorts, Faith and Work, Parakaleo, and Coaching continue to support churches nationwide.
We also rejoice in the establishment of Bay Light Church in Tokyo, Stream Side Church in Chiba, Mustard Seed Church in Saitama, and Saga Bible Church in Saga. Hosting leaders from Redeemer CTC earlier this year helped revive our commitment to Japanese-led church planting and reminded us of our place in a global movement united by the gospel's hope.
As we wrap up 2025, we do so with hearts full of gratitude and dependence. The challenges in Japan are evident; yet, we continue to witness God’s work in progress. Thank you for your prayers, support, and partnership in this journey. May the presence of Christ bring you joy, rest, and strength this Christmas season. As we look toward a new year, I invite you to pray for or contribute to the 2026 Japan Intensive, which will be held in the heart of Tokyo.
