CTCJのコーチは、コーチングを受ける方に寄り添うために特別な研修を受けています。これから教会開拓をしようと思っておられる方、すでに宣教についている方の伴走者としてサポートします。

The Gospel Coach enquires about the relational, personal, missional and spiritual aspects of a leader’s life. These intentional conversations are gospel-focused and provide real support and encouragement for Christian leaders to grow in spiritual maturity, skills and knowledge.
Our coaches have been trained and selected for their skilful caring for others, and are available to partner with those establishing a church plant and with those who already have an established ministry.

What is a coach?
It takes a lot of people to help a church planter/leader succeed. Church planters and leaders need someone who can mentor them. They need counsellors. They need people who will sponsor them financially, people who will pray for them, and peers who will grow with them.
The Christian leader needs so many relationships that Fuller Seminary professors Paul Stanley and Robert Clinton identify a “constellation of relationships” every leader needs to succeed in their ministry. Each relationship plays a vital role in the life of a leader in order for them to finish the race well.
So what exactly is a coach and how does coaching fit into this constellation of relationships?
A coach helps you assess your situation and work out how to improve your skills, knowledge, motivation and deal with any enemy issues. The coach then enables you to take the necessary steps to accomplish what God has called you to do.

教会開拓者・指導者は、その働きに実りを見ることができるようになるまで、多くの人から支援されます。彼らにはメンター、カウンセラー、財政的な支援者、祈ってくれる人、そして一緒に成長していく同僚が必要です。
クリスチャンリーダーが宣教で成功するには、フラー神学校のスタンレイ教授とクリントン教授が、星座のごとくきらめく「関係の一群」と称したような、多くの人たちとのつながりが必要です。宣教のレースを走り抜くためには、そういった一つ一つの関係がとても重要なものになります。
それではコーチーとは何でしょうか? そして星座のごとくきらめく「関係の一群」の中で、コーチングとはどのような機能をもっているのでしょうか?
コーチは、教会開拓者・リーダーが、自分の置かれている状況を自分で分析評価すること、自分の技能、知識、動機をどのように高め、さまざまな問題に対処していけばいいかを探るのを助けます。また、教会開拓者・リー ダーが、神から受けた召命を全うするために必要なステップを踏めるよう支援します。
What can you expect your coach to do?
Your coach will engage you in an intentional Gospel conversation with focused discussions around your relational, personal, missional, and spiritual life. Each time you meet you will agree on some objectives and strategies to work on between coaching sessions. The coach will also spend time with you in prayer and is not so much interested in telling you what to do but helping you work out what to do next.
コーチに期待できるもの
コーチはあなたの人間関係、個人生活、宣教、そ して霊的なことに焦点を当てて、意識的に福音に 根ざした会話を通してあなたに関わります。コーチとのミーティングでは、その都度、次のミー ティングまでになすべき目的や戦略を決めます。 またともに祈る時間ももちます。コーチは、あなたに何をしたらいいかを指示するのではなく、次に何をしたらいいか、あなた自身で考えるように促す存在なのです。
What a Coach is not
Counsellor. A counsellor can be helpful when someone is struggling with some current or past event that prevents him or her from functioning in the healthiest possible way.
Trainer. A seasoned trainer can help others learn and practise a specific skill or methodology so that they can become more effective in one or several areas of ministry or life.
Consultant. A consultant comes into an organisation to determine where the most significant challenges or opportunities for improvement might be and then makes specific recommendations to overcome those challenges or implement those improvements.
Mentor. A mentor shares what he or she knows with someone less experienced. The mentor’s past can illuminate the other person’s steps. A mentor has succeeded in certain aspects of ministry or life. By imparting what he or she has learned, the mentor helps others to avoid pitfalls.
Supervisor. Whereas a mentor is a resource for wisdom in specific situations, a supervisor is responsible for the church planter’s project on the whole. A supervisor is basically the planter’s overseer or boss. The coach does not replace your boss. With this understanding in mind, it’s difficult for a supervisor to be an effective coach for a church planter or any leader under their charge.
コーチは本来
カウンセラーではない。カウンセラーは、健全な機 能を妨げる今あるいは過去の出来事に人が苦しんでいる時に助けとなリます。
トレーナーではない。 経験豊かなトレーナーはある特別な技能またはやり方を学んで実践するのを助けます。そうすることでそれを学んだ人は宣教や生活のある面、あるいは複数の領域でより効果的な働きをすることができます。
コンサルタントではない。 コンサルタントは個人よりも組織が直面している重要な問題や改善点を特定し、どのように問題を克服し、改善を果たすかといったアドバイスをします。
メンターではない。 メンターは経験の浅い人に自分が知っていることを分かち合います。メンターの過去(の経験)は、他の人のこれからの歩みを映し出すことができます。メンターは宣教や人生のある面において成功しています。メンターは自分が学んだことを相手に知らせることで、その人が落し穴にはまらないよう助けます。
スーパーバイザーではない。メンターは、ある特定な状況下で知恵を提供しますが、スーパーバイザーは、教会開拓者のプロジェクト全体に対して責任を負います。スーパーバイザーは、開拓者の監督、または上司です。コーチはあなたの上司ではありません。立場と役割が違うため、スーパーバイザーが教会開拓者やリーダーの良きコーチになるのはとても難しいことです。
コーチは、それまで受けた訓練や教育をもってしても、次に何をしたらいいか分からない状況だと、あなた自身が認められるような安心な環境を提供する存在です。コーチにはあなたを支配する直接的な権限はありません。だから安心して話しにくいことを打ち明けることができるし、まず話す側が安心だと思えることが、健全なコーチングの条件です。当然のことながらコーチには守秘義務があります。

A coach provides a safe environment for you to admit that, despite all the training you have received, you may not know what to do next. A coach has no direct authority over you; therefore you have nothing to lose by confiding in a coach. Trust in the safety of a coaching conversation is key to the success of coaching. A coach cannot be a spy for the sending organisation.

コーチングは、教会開拓者を支援し、アカウンタビリティーの機会を提供します。コーチは、開拓者が教会開拓力をつけるのを助け、個人的な生活の問題に対処し、友人として教会開拓プロジェクトの役割の把握に関して意見を提供します。それは、福音にある友情という文脈の中で、福音中心の教会を始め成功するために、開拓者に励ましと力を与えるプロセスです。
CTCJでは、高度なコーチングを維持するために、コーチ候補者には以下のような特定の能力とそこから生まれる具体的な言動を目指すよう指導しています。
BECOMING A GOSPEL COACH
Coaching provides church planters with support, assistance and accountability. A coach helps a planter develop their church planting competencies, addresses personal life issues, and provides insights into role navigation in the church planting project in the context of a friendship. It is a process of imparting encouragement and skills to the planter in order to succeed in starting a gospel-centred church, in the context of a gospel friendship.
In order to maintain a high level of coaching within City to City Japan, we look for specific competencies and certain behavior descriptors within potential coaches.
City to City ジャパンのコアバリューに同意し、（参加者またはオブザーバーとして）インテンシブにすべての日程参加し、明示された適性・能力を満たしている人は、その次のトレーニングに向けて検討されます。
Those who are in agreement with the core values of City to City Japan, have attended a full Intensive (either as a participant or observer), and who fulfill the specified competencies, will be considered for the following training.
