最近東京では若い人々を支援する動きが活発になってきているように感じます。例えば、少子化の問題は今年は過去最悪のデータがでており、今まで以上にそのような問題に対する解決のために若い世代をどのように支援し社会を建て直せるのかなどの会話が増えていると思います。
I feel that there has been a surge in support for young people in Tokyo recently. For example, the declining birthrate has reached its worst level on record this year, and I think there's been more conversation than ever about how to support the younger generation and rebuild society in order to solve such problems.

最近多くの若い情熱のあるリーダーたちが増えているように思います。30代の開拓者たちが東京都心部で教会を始めています。また多くのクリスチャンネットワークや宣教団体がお互いに意図的に繋がる意識を持ち初めているようにも感じます。
I feel like there's been a recent increase in many young, passionate leaders. Pioneers in their 30s are starting churches in central Tokyo. I also sense that many Christian networks and missionary organizations are beginning to consciously connect with one another.

西東京での牧師たちとの定期的な集まりでは、弟子訓練についてお互いに話し合っています。日本の文化においての特有のチャレンジなど、お互いの経験や失敗を通して、どうしたらさらに福音に沿った形で効果的に次世代を育てることができるのかを話し励まし合っています。またお互いのリソース(場所や資料)を共有するなど、意図的にお互いをサポートするように心掛けています。
In our regular meetings with pastors in West Tokyo, we discuss discipleship training. We encourage each other by sharing our experiences and failures, including the unique challenges in Japanese culture, and discussing how we can more effectively nurture the next generation in a way that is in line with the Gospel. We also make a conscious effort to support each other by sharing resources (places and materials).

前期に引き続きCTCJは、東海地区の教会リーダーの皆さまに静かに寄り添いながら、主がすでに始めておられる働きを妨げることなく、むしろその働きを励まし、支える存在でありたいと祈りつつ歩んでいます。主ご自身がこの地で御業を進めておられることに信頼し、その御業に仕える喜びをもって関わり続けています。

Continuing from the previous term, CTCJ is quietly standing by the church leaders of the Tokai region, praying that we will not hinder the work that the Lord has already begun, but rather encourage and support it. We trust that the Lord Himself is carrying out His work in this land, and we continue to be involved in that work with joy.

今期も東海地区の福音ネットワークに、名古屋市および岐阜市から新しい方々が加えられました。主が新しいつながりを生み出してくださっていることを覚え、心から感謝しています。毎回、今池にあるマスターシードクリスチャン教会（MSCC）を会場として用いることができていることも大きな祝福です。主とMSCCの皆さまのご協力に深く感謝するとともに、これはシティにおける主にある協働の恵みであると実感しています。

This term, we have welcomed new members from Nagoya and Gifu to the Tokai region's evangelical network. I am deeply grateful for the new connections the Lord is creating. It is also a great blessing that we are able to use Master Seed Christian Church (MSCC) in Imaike as our venue each time. I am deeply grateful for the cooperation of the Lord and everyone at MSCC, and I truly feel that this is a grace of collaboration in the Lord within the City.

また、東海地区の福音中心のネットワークに賛同してくださる方々が、少しずつ確かに増やされていることは大きな励ましです。毎月のインキュベーターに参加できない方々もおられますが、そのような中にあっても、神さまが不思議な方法で私たちを用いてくださることを信じています。主が福音ムーブメントをご自身のタイミングで力強く進めてくださることを期待し、祈り続けています。

Furthermore, it is a great encouragement to see the number of people who support the evangelical-centered network in the Tokai region steadily increasing. While some are unable to participate in the monthly incubator sessions, I believe that God will use us in wondrous ways even in those circumstances. I continue to pray, expecting the Lord to powerfully advance the evangelical movement at His own pace."

CTCJは、主が地域教会の牧師やリーダーを通して進めておられる働きに寄り添いながら、共に次の一歩を踏み出していく伴走者でありたいと願っています。今期も新たに2名の方がインキュベーターに加えられ、活発な対話と温かなフェローシップが育まれていることに感謝しています。
CTCJ aspires to be a partner in taking the next step together, supporting the work that the Lord is advancing through pastors and leaders in local churches. We are grateful that two new individuals have joined us as incubators this term, fostering active dialogue and warm fellowship.

また昨年に続き、5月11日に東海福音フェローシップ（TEF）に服部氏と共に参加する機会が与えられました。東海地域の牧師・リーダーが集い、関係を深めるこの場に参与できたことを感謝しています。災害時にも助け合うことができるよう、日頃から関係を築いていくこの取り組みにおいて、主が教会同士をさらに結び合わせてくださることを期待しています。
Furthermore, following last year, we were given the opportunity to participate in the Tokai Evangelical Fellowship (TEF) on May 11th together with Mr. Hattori. We are grateful to have been able to participate in this event where pastors and leaders from the Tokai region gathered and deepened their relationships. We hope that the Lord will further unite churches in this initiative, which aims to build relationships on a daily basis so that we can help each other in times of disaster.

この地で主が確かに働いておられることを覚え、関わってくださっているすべての方々に感謝します。東海の教会がさらに結び合わされ、福音が広がっていくよう、引き続きお祈りいただければ幸いです。

Osaka is a bustling city with a growing number of foreign residents, many tourists, and Japanese moving in from other parts of Japan for school or work, making it a place where culture is mixed and you can hear many different languages and Japanese dialects. This presents us with a great opportunity to reach far beyond the lines of Osaka and the Kansai region with the Gospel.

宣教団体や教会開拓団体の中には、教会開拓に向けて準備を進めている団体がいくつかあります。その多くは外国人主導で、語学研修を終え、地域社会に根を下ろし始めています。また、新しい日本人の教会も誕生しつつあります。新しい教会が生まれるのを目にするのはとても嬉しく、同時に、神が私たちに与えてくださった使命と、神が私たちに与えてくださった人々のために、互いに成長できるよう、より深く、より親密な協力関係を築く必要性を改めて認識させられます。
There are a handful of mission and church planting organizations that are gearing up for launching their church plants. Many are foreign-led and are finishing up their language acquisition training and starting to grow their roots in their communities. There are also new Japanese church plants that are being birthed as well! It's an exciting time to see the birth of new churches, and it also emphasizes the need for greater and deeper collaboration so that we can help each other thrive in what God called us to do and to the people whom God has called us.

CTCJ creates connections between different denominations and independent churches through things like the Incubator and Intensive, but also as we have a strong presence in the Osaka Prayer Network monthly gatherings. We try to help foster real relationships between church planters and mission organization leaders that will lead to support and resourcing one another.

Gospel to Okinawa (GTO)

GTOの2026年のキックオフ集会が始まりました。講師に三好先生を招き教会の活性化について話していただきました。今回は2Daysで行い初日を信徒向け、二日目を教職者向けで行い、それぞれに新しい人が送られてきました。

また、GTOは次のリーダーのためにも祈っています。次のリーダーが与えられトレーニングされるために整えられるように取り組んでいきます。

GTO's 2026 kickoff meeting has begun. We invited Professor Miyoshi as a speaker to talk about revitalizing churches. This year's event was held over two days, with the first day for lay members and the second day for clergy, and new members were sent to each group.

GTO is also praying for the next generation of leaders. We will work to ensure that the next leaders are given the opportunity to be trained and prepared.

新しいリーダーを育てるために私たちは動き出しました。幸いなことにGTOには若い牧師が与えられています。GTOが受け取るだけではなく、広げていくためのリーダーです。沖縄の若い意欲のある牧師のためにお祈りください。
GTO has begun working to cultivate new leaders. Fortunately, GTO has been given young pastors. These are leaders who will not only receive but also spread the message. Please pray for these young, motivated pastors in Okinawa.

翻訳 Translations

今期は昨年９月から始まった第二回目の翻訳コーホート全６回が２月に無事終了しました。約１０名の参加者がセンターチャーチをテキストに、福音による刷新や文脈化、信仰と仕事、通訳としてのプレゼン方法などをグループディスカッションやゲストスピーカーを交えて共に学びました。都市で広がりを見せるバイリンガル教会における宣教において、福音を現地の文化と言葉で伝えることについて意見交換できたことは参加者への励ましだけでなく、彼らが奉仕する教会開拓への支援につながります。また、過去２回のコーホートやその他のつながりから今年は常時３名の翻訳ボランティアが与えられ、年明けに説明会を開きました。翻訳部門では業務が広がる中でこういったボランティアとの連携も含めたプロジェクト管理業務も増えています。全国５ヶ所でのインキュベーター資料作成2年目を迎えた今年、働き人が与えられつつあり心から感謝しています。

This term saw the successful completion in February of the second translation cohort, comprising six sessions in total, which began last September. Approximately ten participants studied together using Centre Church as their text, engaging in group discussions and sessions with guest speakers on topics such as Gospel renewal, Contextualisation, Faith and work, and presentation methods for interpreters. The opportunity to exchange views on communicating the gospel in the local culture and language within the context of bilingual churches expanding in urban areas not only encouraged participants but also supports the church planting ministries they serve. Furthermore, building on connections from the previous two cohorts and other networks, three dedicated translation volunteers were provided this year, with an orientation session held at the beginning of the year. Within the translation department, as the workload expands, project management tasks – including coordination with such volunteers – are also increasing. As we enter the second year of preparing Incubator materials for five locations nationwide, we are deeply grateful that workers are being provided.

ある日翻訳コーホート参加者が参加終了後に通訳しているメッセージを聞いていたところ、それまでとは違う力強さを感じました。後日聞いてみると、これまではずっとメッセンジャーメインになるように考えていたが、もう少し自分の言葉で表現してもいいのではと考えるようになり、意識してそうしてみたとのことでした。もちろんその場に働かれるのは聖霊ですが、現地語で福音を伝える立場にいる通訳者の意識が変わることで伝わるものがあることを実感させられた経験でした。同時に意識した後でとても疲れたとのことでしたが、それだけ福音を伝える働きの重さも伝わり、メッセンジャーのみならず通訳者への祈りとサポートの必要も再認識させられました。

One Sunday, whilst listening to a message being interpreted by a translation cohort participant during the worship service, I sensed a different kind of strength than before. When I asked about it later, he explained that previously he had always focused on making the messenger the main focus, but he had begun to think it might be acceptable to express things a little more in his own words, and had consciously tried to do so. Of course, it is ultimately the Holy Spirit who works in that place, but this experience made me realise that when the interpreter's mindset changes – someone in the position of conveying the gospel in the local language – something is indeed communicated. Simultaneously, he mentioned feeling very tired after consciously making this change. This served as a reminder of the weight of the work involved in sharing the gospel, and reinforced the need for prayer and support not only for the messengers but also for the interpreters.

Within the translation department, as our workload expands, project management tasks—including coordination with volunteers—are also increasing. We ask for your prayers that we may maintain the quality of the translations themselves, and that we may thoroughly review and evaluate our work to clearly identify improvement proposals for future projects. Please pray for us as we prepare the monthly incubator materials and the intensive course materials, which will increase as we head into autumn.

前四半期、私はCTCAsia/Pacificが主催する6回のコーチング・メンタリング・ミーティングに参加しました。今四半期は、そこで学んだことを日々のコーチングに応用しました。特に「気づき、疑問を持ち、認識する」という概念を重視しました。教会開拓者との会話の中で何か気づいたことがあれば、「疑問を持つ」ことから始め、明確な答えを得ようと質問を投げかけます。そして、その答えから相手の真意を理解し、より良い探求の道へと導かれるのです。

Last quarter I attended the six coach-mentoring meetings sponsored by CTC Asia Pacific. In this quarter I applied what I learned to my regular coaching, particularly the concept of "notice, wonder, and recognize." Whenever I notice something in my conversation with a church planter, I "wonder," which leads me to raise questions that try to get clear answers. From the answers, I recognize what he meant, and also it may lead me down a better path of inquiry.

CTCJは春に福音コーチ養成講座を開催する計画を立てていたので、私は今期からその準備を始めました。福音コーチ養成講座のために、私は将来のコーチとなるにふさわしい候補者を神が起こしてくださるよう祈るだけでなく、経験豊富なコーチの方々にも講座のお手伝いをお願いしていました。後者については、講師の方々が将来のディレクターになれるかどうかを見極めたいと思っていました。神は合計6名の候補者と2名のコーチ講師を養成してくださいました。最後の1名は、候補者の1人が牧師の友人にこの養成講座のことを話したところ、その友人が私に連絡をくれて参加させてほしいと頼んできたことで加わりました。ちょうど1名分の空きがあったので、彼を受け入れることができました。実は、候補者が数名でも集まるかどうか不安でしたが、神は私たちの祈りに答えてくださいました。神に感謝！

CTCJ made plans to have gospel coach training in Spring, and so I began to prepare for it in this quarter. For the gospel coach training, I had been not only asking God to raise up the right candidates to be future coaches, but also ask other experienced coaches to help with the training. As to the last part, I am hoping that I will learn whether the trainers can be future directors. God brought a total six candidates to attend, and two coach trainers. The last one was added when one of the candidates told his pastor friend about this coaching, and his friend contacted me to ask if he could also attend. There was one more space so that I could accept him. As a matter of fact, I was anxious if we could get even a few candidates, but God answered our prayers. Praise God !

次のステップ What's next?

4月13日から15日にかけて、福音コーチ養成のための対面式研修を実施します。この研修の後、2ヶ月間にわたり、トライホート・コーチング演習を6回行います。研修生たちが福音に基づいたCROSSモデルのコーチングを身につけるのを楽しみにしています。
We are having the gospel coach training face to face in April 13 through 15. After this training there are six sessions of Trihort coaching exercises for next two months. I am looking forward to seeing those trainees equipped with CROSS model coaching based on the gospel.

・福音コーチング研修は、研修生がCROSSモデルの各構成要素、そして共感的な傾聴や的確な質問といったその他の重要な要素を理解できるという意味で成功するでしょう。

・Gospel coach training will be successful in the sense that trainees will understand each component of CROSS model, and other key elements such as active listening with empathy and raising good questions.
