From New York to Tokyo
「今回の訪問はまさに贈り物でした」と、リディーマーCTCムーブメント部門担当副代表は東京中心部への最近の出張を振り返りながら語ってくれました。これまで、当団体のカタリストたちは東京の広域都市圏におけるこの地域での足場固めに苦労を重ねてきましたが、今四半期はある意味ターニングポイントとなりました。 日本にリディーマーCTCのリーダーたちが赴き、東京中心部の20名以上のリーダーたちに紹介されたことで、これまで思いもよらなかった可能性への道が開かれたのです。
“What a gift this visit has been,” reflected the Vice President of Movement for Redeemer CTC as he looked back on his recent trip to Central Tokyo. For some time, our catalysts have struggled to gain traction in this part of the Tokyo Greater Metropolitan Area. Yet this quarter marked a turning point: the presence of Redeemer CTC leaders in Japan, and their introduction to more than 20 leaders across Central Tokyo, opened pathways toward previously unforeseen possibilities.
『センター・チャーチ』を実際に学んでいる人々の新たな体験談や、日本主導の自立した教会開拓モデルの感動的な事例を聞くことは、大きな励みとなりました。しかしそれと同様に重要だったのは、日本各地の組織との新たな関係構築です。こうしたつながりは、将来のパートナーシップを大いに期待させるものです。
It was deeply encouraging to hear fresh accounts of people studying *Center Church*, alongside inspiring examples of Japanese-led, self-sustaining church planting models. Just as meaningful, however, were the new relationships formed with organisations across the region—connections that hold great promise for future partnership.
訪問者の方々が、私たちが世界中の都市で福音の刷新を追求する大きなグローバルな家族の一員であることを改めて気づかせてくださったことに感謝しています。この来訪は単なる訪問以上のもので、信仰と未来への希望をもって日本の教会に仕える決意を強める助けとなりました。
We are grateful to our visitors for reminding us that we are part of a larger global family, united in pursuing gospel renewal in cities around the world. This trip was more than a visit; it helped strengthen our resolve to serve the churches of Japan with faith and hope for the future.

Through this season of new connections, I feel like God is healing and doing something new together.
多くの教会やクリスチャン団体のリーダーがもっとつながりたい、また協力することで神の国を前進させたいという意欲が高まってきているように感じます。また多くの宣教師たちが東京の地に集まってきているようにも感じます。様々なミニストリー、例えば教会を超えたクリスチャンミュージシャン、賛美リーダーたちがつながり、共同で新しいことを生み出すネットワークなどが一例です。
I feel that leaders of many churches and Christian organizations are becoming more motivated to connect and work together to advance God's kingdom. I also feel that many missionaries are gathering in Tokyo. There are a variety of ministries, such as Christian musicians who transcend church boundaries, and networks of worship leaders who are connecting and creating new things together.

つながりたいと多くの牧師やリーダーたちが思う中、CTCJのヴィジョンや価値観と一致した東京のリーダー達を通して、定期的な集まりを始めることができました。これから毎月会う予定です。
Many pastors and leaders wanted to connect, and through leaders in Tokyo who shared the vision and values of CTCJ, we have begun regular meetings. We plan to meet monthly from now on.

引き続き神奈川インキュベーターが行われています。その後のランチと交流の時間で、どのようにしたらお互いの関係をもう一歩深めていけるのかを考えて、イメージを共有し合うようになってきました。自分も含めて、一歩ずつ歩み寄ろうとしているように感じます。
The Kanagawa Incubator is currently underway. During the lunch and social time that followed, we began to think about how we could further deepen our relationship and share ideas. It feels like everyone, including myself, is trying to come to an agreement, one step at a time.

大阪は、オープンマインドでありたいと願いながらも、その「大阪らしさ」を守ろうとする都市です。2025年万博の開催地として、日本全国や世界中から多くの人々が大阪に集まり、様々な文化や言語が急増し混ざり合っています。温かい心と攻撃的な性格という表裏一体の性質で知られる大阪人は、訪れる全ての人々を歓迎し受け入れるよう最善を尽くしています。しかし同時に、自分たちらしさを尊重されたいとも願っています。自分の文化を失ったり、無邪気に軽んじられることを望んでいないのです。
Osaka is a city that desires to be open-minded but also strives to keep its "Osaka-ness". As the host of the 2025 World Expo, many people from around Japan and the world are flocking to Osaka, bringing a sudden increase and mixing of many cultures and languages. Known for being both warm-hearted and aggressive, two sides of the same coin, Osaka-jin are trying their best to be welcoming and accommodating to all the visitors, but they also want to be respected for being themselves too, and not losing their culture or being too naively disrespected.
過去10年間、大阪では教会の指導者が幾度も交代し、新たな教会が開拓される一方で閉鎖される教会もありました。神は、教会設立と牧会が非常に困難なものであるにもかかわらず、御自身が力と未来への希望の源であることを示しておられます。そして牧師や教会開拓者たちを支え、試練や困難を耐え忍ぶ力を与えておられます。その結果、指導者間の絆はより強固になり、互いへの深い思いやりと配慮が生まれ、逆境を通して実りがもたらされているのです。
In the past 10 years Osaka has had quite a few leadership changes in churches, and new churches being planted but also some that have closed. God is showing that though planting and pastoring churches can be quite challenging, He is the source of strength and hope for the future. God is sustaining pastors and church planters to persevere trials and difficulties, resulting in stronger relationships between leaders, a deep care and concern for one another and fruitfulness born through adversity.

CTCは牧師やミニストリーリーダーのつながりを支援し、新たな教会開拓者や既存教会の牧師を育成・訓練します。CTCは牧師同士が互いを知り合う安全な場を提供し、都市のより大きな益を求め、ここに福音が根付くのを見るために、私たちの「集まり」の外やその先での連携を促進します。また牧師を訪問し、友情を築き、個人的に支えます。
CTC helps to connect pastors and ministry leaders and equips and trains new church planters and pastors of existing churches. CTC facilitates safe places for pastors to discover each other and promotes partnering outside and beyond our "tribes" as we seek the greater good of the city and to see the Gospel take root here. We also visit pastors to build friendships and support them personally.

今期も神様は名古屋を「隠された霊的可能性に満ちた街」として見させてくださっていると感じています。伝統と産業のリズムがこの街を形づくっている一方で、静かな刷新の動きも個々人において起こっています。（外国人や日本人の）地域のリーダーたちの双方に、福音がどのようにこの地により深く根づいていくのかを思い描かせてくださっています。それは新たに開拓された教会だけではなく、既存の教会の中にも芽生えています。
This quarter again, I feel that God continues to let us see Nagoya as “a city full of hidden spiritual potential.” While the rhythms of tradition and industry shape this city, quiet movements of renewal are also taking place in individuals. God is allowing both local leaders—Japanese and foreign—to envision how the gospel might take deeper root in this land. This is sprouting not only in newly planted churches but also within existing ones.
この四半期、名古屋インキュベーターは福音中心の学びと交わりの場として続けられました。8月は集まりがお休みでしたが、関係そのものは休止することなく、祈りの課題や励ましの分かち合いが続きました。 今期も気づかされていることの一つは、インターナショナル教会からの参加が多い一方で、日本の伝統的な教会からの参加者が非常に少ないという現実です。その気づきを受けて『キリスト教年鑑2025』(キリスト新聞社)を開いてみると、東海地区（愛知・岐阜・三重・静岡）には実に多くの伝統的な教会が存在していることに改めて驚かされました。祈りながら、神様からこう問われていると感じています。「新しい教会(多くの場合はインターナショナル教会)だけでなく、既存の教会、歴史ある日本の教会、地方の教会に、あなたはどのように仕えていきたいですか？ 今あなたたちの手に与えられているビジョンやリソースは何ですか？ それらをどのように活用して、彼らに仕え、彼らへの祝福となりたいですか？」
During this quarter, the Nagoya Incubator continued to serve as a space for gospel-centered learning and fellowship. Although we took a break from gatherings in August, the relationships themselves did not pause—prayer requests and encouragement continued to be shared. One realization this quarter is the noticeable imbalance: while many participants come from international churches, there are very few from traditional Japanese churches. This prompted me to open the Christian Yearbook 2025 (published by Kirisuto Shimbunsha), and I was once again surprised by how many traditional churches exist in the Tokai region (Aichi, Gifu, Mie, Shizuoka). In prayer, I sense God asking: “How do you want to serve not only new churches (often international ones), but also existing churches, historic Japanese churches, and rural churches? What vision and resources have been entrusted to you now? How will you use them to serve and be a blessing to these churches?”
CTCJが名古屋でインキュベーターを通して継続的に存在していることは、牧師やリーダーたちにとって確かな励ましとなっています。この集まりを支え、フォローし、安心して分かち合える場を提供することで、信頼と福音による一致が少しずつ育まれています。 今期は、2024年の京都で行われたインテンシブ以降、会うことができなかった二人の教会リーダーたちに会うことができました。彼らの喜び、祈祷課題を傾聴し、一緒に祈る特権と機会を得ることができました。 また日本の伝統的な教会や地方教会の牧師やリーダーとどのように関係を築いていけるかを祈り始めました。まずは愛知県にある教会の牧師やリーダーたちに連絡を取り始め、私たちが彼らにどのようにお仕えすることができるか、祝福となることができるかを傾聴することからはじめています。CTCJの祈りは、押しつけるのではなく、耳を傾け、励まし、あらゆる文脈において福音が持つ刷新の力を共に見上げていくことです。
CTCJ’s continued presence in Nagoya through the Incubator has been a steady source of encouragement for pastors and leaders. By supporting and following up with this gathering, and providing a safe space for sharing, trust and gospel-centered unity are gradually being cultivated. This quarter, I was able to meet with two church leaders whom I hadn’t seen since the 2024 Intensive in Kyoto. It was a privilege and joy to listen to their stories and prayer needs, and to pray together. Also this quarter, we began praying about how to build relationships with pastors and leaders of traditional and rural churches in Japan. We’ve started by reaching out to pastors and leaders of churches in Aichi Prefecture, beginning with listening—how we might serve them, and how we might be a blessing to them. CTCJ’s prayer is not to impose, but to listen, encourage, and together look to the renewing power of the gospel in every context.

インキュベーターのプログラムは沖縄の牧師や教会開拓者に良い影響を与えています。沖縄で福音的な教会が開拓されるために不可欠なコンテンツを届けることが出来ています。そして私たちは新しい教会開拓者を探しています。そのためにもこのプログラムは欠かせません。
The Incubator program is having a positive impact on pastors and church planters in Okinawa. It provides essential content for the planting of evangelical churches in Okinawa. And as we seek new church planters, this program is essential.
物語 Stories
ある若い牧師は、教会開拓をしたいという思いが与えられています。しかし彼は一つの教会のグループの経験しかありませんでした。しかしGTOに参加することによって新しいネットワークが広がりました。主によって健全で福音的な交わりが与えられたことに喜びを感じました。
One young pastor had been given the desire to plant a church, but he had only had experience with one church group. However, by participating in GTO, he was able to expand his network and rejoice in the healthy, evangelical fellowship the Lord had given him.

翻訳 Translations

翻訳部門では引き続きインキュベーターの資料作成を毎月行いました。1月から開始したディレクター、トレーニングディレクター、コンテンツディレクターによる共同執筆記事は、毎月このインキュベーターのトピックをまとめたものとしてインキュベーター参加者に用いられてきました。7月からはここに５名のアドバイザーを迎え、より多彩な視点から議論を重ね共同執筆記事を制作する試みを始めました。
We are grateful to our advisors for their varied counsel, ranging from topic-specific phrasing and contextualisation to the direction of CTCJ's blog articles. Furthermore, at the end of July, we were given the opportunity to exhibit a booth and present at the Presbyterian Church of Japan's Kanto Regional Retreat. As the retreat's theme was church planting as a response to God's love, it proved an excellent opportunity to help attendees understand CTCJ's work and significance.
トピックに関する表現、文脈化から、CTCJのブログ記事の方向性まで様々な助言をしてくださるアドバイザーの皆さまに感謝しています。 また7月末に日本長老教会の関東の修養会にブースを展示し、プレゼンする機会も与えられました。会のテーマも神の愛に応える結果としての教会開拓でしたので、CTCJの働きや存在意義も理解してもらういい機会となりました。
The Translation Content Department continued to produce monthly materials for the Incubator. The collaborative articles authored by the Executive Director, Training Director, and Content Director, initiated in January, have been used monthly by Incubator participants as summaries of the Incubator's topics. From July, we began an initiative to produce these collaborative articles by welcoming five advisors, fostering discussions from a wider range of perspectives.
9月からは第二回目のオンライン翻訳コーホートが始まります。今回は１４名の参加者、２名のゲストスピーカー、１名のフェローが、全国各地から与えられています。ミニストリーの現場での通訳、翻訳についてセンターチャーチをテキストに学び、ネットワークの機会となることを願っています。今回は過去の参加者から１名、翻訳コーホートのこれから共に考え働いてくださるフェローが与えられ、全モジュールオブザーバーとして参加してくださいます。毎月１回、来年2月まで行われるこのコーホートのためにお祈りください。
In September, the second online translation cohort will begin. This time, we have been blessed with 14 participants, 2 guest speakers, and 1 fellow joining us from across the nation. We hope this cohort will provide an opportunity to learn about interpreting and translation in ministry settings using Center Church as our text, and to build networks. This cohort includes one former participant who will serve as a fellow, joining us to think and work together on the future of the translation cohort, and who will participate as an observer for all modules.Please pray for this cohort, which will meet monthly until February next year.
この期を通して、翻訳コンテンツ部門ではインテンシブやインキュベーターの資料のレビューや新しいモジュール資料の作成やブログ制作のプロセスが、ボランティアの助けも得て定着したことが大きな収穫です。ボランティアは翻訳コーホートの参加者から与えられています。このコーホートは都市に多いバイリンガル教会のニーズを満たすだけでなく、ここから新しい働き人が育てられ、ネットワークが生まれて来ていて、今後、主がこのムーブメントをどのように導かれるかを期待します。
A significant achievement during this period for the Translation Content Department has been the establishment, with volunteer support, of processes for reviewing Intensive and Incubator materials, creating new module materials, and producing blog content. Volunteers are provided from among the Translation Cohort participants. This cohort not only meets the needs of bilingual churches, which are common in cities, but is also nurturing new workers and fostering networks. Often, translators and interpreters in such ministry settings serve without opportunities for training or fellowship, and they greatly look forward to the Translation Cohort. Please also pray about how the Lord will guide this movement going forward.
翻訳コーホートの参加者には、それぞれの期待をお聞きするためにインテイクインタビューを行なっています。その中でテキストとなるセンターチャーチについて、一人だとなかなか読めないのでコーホートで一緒に読める機会を楽しみにしているという声をいただきました。またコーホート参加をきっかけに購入、すでに読了したという参加者もいらっしゃいました。センターチャーチは教会開拓者のトレーニングに使用されるだけでなく、共に働く翻訳者通訳者など教会開拓チームの共通言語の土台となり福音理解を強固にする一つのツールになっています。
Participants in the translation cohort undergo intake interviews to discuss their individual expectations. During these, several expressed looking forward to the cohort's opportunity to read Centre Church together, noting that tackling the text alone proved challenging. Some participants had already purchased and finished reading the book following their cohort participation. The Centre Church is not only used for training church planters, but also serves as a tool to establish a common language foundation for the church planting team – including co-working translators and interpreters – thereby strengthening their understanding of the gospel.

名古屋の牧師グループに、新たに翻訳された福音資料が紹介されました。ある牧師は、「恵みを分かりやすく説明するのにいつも苦労していましたが、この本のおかげで、会衆が理解しやすい形で表現することができました」と語りました。この翻訳は単なる言葉ではなく、日本でより効果的に福音を伝えるための指導者たちを育成するものです。
A newly translated gospel resource was introduced to a group of pastors in Nagoya. One pastor shared, “I’ve always struggled to explain grace clearly, but this book helped me articulate it in a way my congregation understands.” This translation is not just words—it’s equipping leaders to share the gospel more effectively in Japan.
ある若い男性は、コーチングの目標の一つとして「センター・チャーチ」を読んだことで、特に両親からの承認を偶像視していたことに気づきました。彼は両親を喜ばせるために一生懸命働いていたことに気づきました。しかし今では、そうする必要はないと気づきました。
A young man was convicted through the reading of "Center Church" as one of his objectives set up in coaching that he had an idol of approval, especially from his parents. He noticed that he works hard in order to please them. But now he recognizes that he does not need to do so.
コーチ陣にはよりパーソナルなアプローチを心がけました。一人ひとりにコーチングセッションの動画を撮ってもらい、それを通してフィードバックを提供することで、スキルアップを支援し、信頼関係を築くようにしました。
I tried to more personally approach to coaches. I asked each of them to take the video of their coaching session. Through this video I contacted each of them to give feedback to help them skill-up and to build the trust relationship with them.

ライトプロジェクト Light Project

LIGHT PROJECTは、超教派の信仰と仕事ミニストリーです。 働くクリスチャンが、「信仰と仕事」を統合し、仕事を通して、職場でイエスの光（Light）を輝かせるために、励まし、訓練する目的を持って活動しています。そのビジョンは、イエス・キリストの光を日本の働く場所にもたらし、その光（Light)を日本のすべてに満たすことで、CTCJとはパートナーの関係を持っています。私たちの信仰と仕事の統合・基礎コースでは、2018年から165を超える違う教会から、310名以上のクリスチャンを訓練しました。
The LIGHT PROJECT is an interdenominational faith and work ministry. Its mission is to encourage and train Christian professionals to integrate "faith and work" and to shine the Light of Jesus in the workplace through their work. Its vision is to bring the Light of Jesus Christ to the workplaces of Japan and to fill all of Japan with that Light, and it has a partnership with CTCJ. We have trained over 310 Christians from more than 165 different churches through our Faith ＆Work basic course since 2018.

ジョアンナ・マイアー著『Women, Work & Calling』の邦訳本が東京オアシス書店の8月売上ランキングで5位になりました。紙媒体の本とデジタル本を出版しています。現在、オーディオブックを収録中で、11月に完成予定です。
今日の仕事と召命の背後にある神学的および実践的な問題をよりよく理解するために、女性と男性の両方の読者を対象としています。この本が、女性（そして男性）が仕事を通してどのように贖いの影響を与えることができるかを発見するために、神が力強く用いてくださるよう祈ります。
Joanna Meyer's book ”Women, Work & Calling” in Japanese ranked 5th on Tokyo Oasis Books' August sales chart. The book is available in print and digital formats. Now we are producing its audiobook version scheduled for publication in November. We pray that God will use this book mightily to help women (and men) discover how they can have a redemptive impact through their work.
2) 信仰と仕事セミナー Faith ＆Work Seminar
このセミナーは単発のセミナーで、信仰と仕事の統合コースを受講してくださった2人が証をはなしてくださり、その後、参加者同士でグループディスカッションをします。今回は、地方公務員の方と、生活支援員の方がお話くださいました。学びの中で、仕事の価値をどのように理解していったかや、神の国を広げるために神が私たちの仕事用いてくださるのかを発見していったかを話してくださいました。この記事は、クリスチャン新聞に掲載されました。
This is a one-time seminar where two participants who completed our Faith and Work Integration Course shared their testimonies, followed by group discussions among attendees. This time, a local city employee and a life support worker spoke. They shared how they came to understand the value of their work through their learning journey and how they discovered God uses our work to expand His kingdom. This article was placed at a Christian Newspaper.
