Director of Strategic Partnerships and Movement
Katsuro Hattori was raised in Numazu, Shizuoka, as a third-generation Christian. After graduating from university, he moved to Tokyo and worked 3 years in a corporate setting before responding to God’s calling for the Gospel. For the past 4 years, he and his wife have been serving in full-time ministry based in Ome, Tokyo.
He is now serving with City to City, engaging in church planting and leadership development in Japan. Building on his experience in ministry and the creative field, he seeks to see the Gospel expressed and expanded through culture.
He has been involved in evangelism through cafés and events, with a strong passion for unity among Christians and the raising up of the next generation. As a filmmaker and photographer, he creates Gospel-centered works and produces testimony documentary films that capture God’s work in individual lives, with the vision of sharing the Gospel across Japan.
With a calling toward “reaching the 99% of Japanese people” and “fostering unity among the 1% of Christians while raising the next generation,” he continues to pursue Gospel impact through culture, creative expression, and community.
服部克郎は、静岡県沼津市でクリスチャン三代目として育つ。大学卒業後に上京し、一般企業での勤務を経て福音のための召しを受ける。東京都青梅市を拠点に、夫婦でフルタイムの宣教活動に約4年間従事してきた。
現在はCity to Cityの働きに加わり、日本における教会開拓とリーダー育成に携わりながら、これまでの宣教およびクリエイティブの経験を活かし、福音が文化の中で広がっていくことを目指している。
これまで、カフェやイベントを通して福音を伝える働きに取り組み、クリスチャン同士の一致と次世代の育成に情熱を注いできた。また、映像クリエイター・写真家として福音を中心とした作品制作を行い、証（あかし）のドキュメンタリー映像を通して、一人ひとりの人生に働かれる神のストーリーを記録し、日本に福音を届けることを目指している。
「99%の日本人への伝道」と「1%のクリスチャンの一致と次世代の立ち上がり」という召しのもと、文化・表現・コミュニティの領域から福音が広がっていくことを願い、活動を続けている。
