Utako is married to Damian and they were both educated at Regents Theological College (affiliated with Manchester University), in the United Kingdom. They have been involved in ministry from an early age and have a heart to see a new generation of church planters well equipped to bring spiritual, social and cultural renewal through the Gospel, to themselves, their families and the city. Utako serves women within Japan, and across Asia, as a trainer and group leader of Parakaleo (a ministry that supports wives of church planters).

詩子はデイミアンと結婚しており、共に英国のリージェンツ神学校で学んだ。彼らは若い頃からミニストリーに携わっており、福音を通して霊的、社会的、そして文化的な刷新が自分自身、家族、そして街にもたらされるため、よく整えられた次世代の教会開拓者を見たいという思いがある。教会開拓者の妻を支えるミニストリー、パラカレオのトレーナー＆グループリーダーとして、女性に仕えている。
なぜ悲しいのか、なぜ怒っているのか、なぜ逃げたいと思うのか、なぜ失望しているのか、本当のところの、本当の理由が何なのか、あまりわからないまま過ごすことの方が多いように思います。なぜ嬉しいのか、なぜ今日は気分がいいのか、なぜ挑戦しよう！と張り切ったのか、本当のところの、本当の動機が何なのか、あまり考えずに過ごすことの方が多いのではないでしょうか。英語で”Name it” と言うフレーズを頻繁に耳にした時期がありました。
