今期も、神様が名古屋という街に秘めておられる霊的な可能性が、静かに、しかし着実に開かれていくのを実感しています。長い年月の中で育まれてきた伝統と産業のリズムは、この街の強い土台であり続けていますが、その内側では、人々の心に小さな“新しい息吹”が芽生え始めています。地域で仕える日本人・外国人のリーダーたちは皆、「福音がこの地でどのように根づき、実を結び、広がっていくのか」 というビジョンを少しずつ共有し始めています。名古屋で起こっているこの静かな前進は、他の地域にも必ず広がりうると信じています。 必要な時にCTCJがそっと寄り添い、伴走できる存在になれればと願っています。

This quarter, I once again sensed that God is quietly yet steadily unveiling the spiritual potential He has planted in the city of Nagoya. This city has long been shaped by a deep rhythm of tradition and industry – foundations that continue to support its identity. Yet beneath that familiar surface, small “new breaths” of renewal have begun to appear in the hearts of many. Both Japanese and international leaders serving in the region are gradually beginning to share a common vision: How might the gospel take root in this land, bear fruit, and spread more deeply and widely? This quiet forward movement we’re seeing in Nagoya is something we believe God can – and will – bring about in other regions as well. When such moments arise, we hope CTCJ can be a gentle companion, walking alongside churches and leaders as they take their next step.

今期、新しく若い日本人牧師がインキュベーターに加わってくださり、大きな励ましとなりました。一人の参加が加わることで場全体に新しい風が吹き込み、議論はさらに深まり、互いの視点や励ましも豊かになっていくのを実感しました。また、岐阜市で教会開拓に励んでおられる牧師夫妻を訪問し、祈りの課題を伺い、心を合わせて祈る機会が与えられました。地域の最前線で奮闘されている開拓者の霊的・肉体的な必要を共有し、継続して祈りに覚えることの大切さを深く学びました。宣教の最前線に立つリーダーたちの上に、主の確かな臨在と守り、導きが豊かにありますよう心から願っています。
This quarter, a young Japanese pastor joined the Incubator, and his presence was a tremendous encouragement. Even the addition of one new participant brought a fresh wind into the room. Discussions deepened, perspectives broadened, and the mutual encouragement among participants grew richer. It reminded us again of the value of leaders learning and walking together.
I also had the privilege of visiting a church-planting couple serving in Gifu City. Listening to their prayer requests and praying with them was a gift. Hearing the spiritual and physical burdens carried by those on the frontlines of ministry helped us rediscover the importance of holding these leaders continually in prayer. We pray earnestly that God’s steady presence, protection, and guidance will rest abundantly upon those serving at the front lines of mission—both in Nagoya and in every region.

CTCJは、主が各地で進めておられる働きに寄り添い、教会やリーダーが次の一歩を踏み出せるよう伴走することを大切にしています。今期は、今年最後のインキュベーターを無事終えることができました。全9回の学びと交わりを通して、参加者全員が深い恵みにあずかり、互いの働きに対する理解と励ましが大きく広がりました。
CTCJ desires to come alongside the work God is already doing in each city and support churches and leaders as they take their next faithful step. This quarter, we successfully completed the final Incubator session of the year. Across all nine gatherings, participants experienced deep learning and rich fellowship, and we together rejoiced in the grace we encountered throughout the journey.

Q1. 今年のインキュベーターで、牧師として最も影響を受けた点は何でしたか？「学び続けることの大切さを改めて実感しました。良いリマインダーとなり、新しい気づきも与えられたことに感謝しています。」
Q1. As a pastor, what influenced you the most through this year's Incubator? "I was reminded of the importance of continuing to learn. It served as a helpful reminder and also gave me new insights, which I’m grateful for."

Q2. インキュベーターは、ご自身の教会でのミニストリーにどのような変化や気づきを与えましたか？「教会のことを考えるとき、木に例えるなら“枝葉”の部分、つまり細かなアプリケーションに意識が向きがちだと思います。しかし本当に変わるべきは“幹”の部分であり、その変化には時間がかかると感じています。たとえば、インキュベーターの初期で学んだ「私たちは皆それぞれ異なる“レンズ”を通して物事を解釈している」という点について言えば、解釈の違いに目を向ける前に、自分がどんなレンズをかけているのかを自覚する必要があります。根本に立ち返ることができたのは大変良い学びでした。」

Q2. How did the Incubator bring change or new awareness to your ministry context? "When thinking about church ministry, we often focus on the “branches and leaves”—the finer applications. However, the real area that needs to change is the “trunk,” and I believe that kind of change takes time. For example, early in the Incubator we learned that each of us views things through different “lenses.” We tend to focus on differences in interpretation, but before that, we need to recognize the fact that we are all wearing lenses in the first place. Being able to return to these foundational truths was very helpful for me."

Q3. 参加したことをきっかけに、教会で新しく取り入れたことや変化させた実践はありますか？「教会の変化は、まずリーダー自身の変化から始まると思います。インキュベーターを通して、私の中にも確かに変えられた部分があります。しかし、それを教会全体へと落とし込むにはまだ時間が必要だと感じています。宿題が十分にできていなかったことも影響していますし、私の教会の場合は複数のリーダーがいますので、もし皆で参加できていたら、教会としての変化はさらに大きかったかもしれません。」

Q3. Have you implemented anything new in your church or made any changes as a result of the Incubator? "I believe that change in a church begins with change in its leaders. Through the Incubator, there are areas in my own life and leadership that have certainly been transformed. However, it will still take time to translate that into changes within the church. I also think the fact that I wasn’t able to complete all the homework assignments had an impact. And in the case of our church, since we have multiple leaders, I imagine the influence on the church would have been even greater if all of us had been able to participate together."

今期はさらに、CBIカンファレンスへの参加を通して多くの新しいリーダーたちと挨拶し、つながりを持つことができました。また、メールアウトリーチでは伝統的な教会のリサーチを行い、初めて関わる牧師たちへ丁寧にアプローチすることができました。これらの働きが、「必要なときにはCTCJに相談できる」、「一緒に考え、祈り、歩んでくれる」という安心感につながり、地域教会の励ましとなることを願っています。
In addition, this quarter we were able to greet and connect with many new leaders at the CBI Conference.Through our email outreach, we conducted research on traditional churches in Aichi Prefecture and reached out—often for the very first time—to pastors we had not previously connected with. Through these efforts, our hope is that pastors and churches will
remember CTCJ when they encounter needs, knowing that they can reach out and that CTCJ will walk with them, pray with them, and offer tangible support when needed.

今期も神様は名古屋を「隠された霊的可能性に満ちた街」として見させてくださっていると感じています。伝統と産業のリズムがこの街を形づくっている一方で、静かな刷新の動きも個々人において起こっています。（外国人や日本人の）地域のリーダーたちの双方に、福音がどのようにこの地により深く根づいていくのかを思い描かせてくださっています。それは新たに開拓された教会だけではなく、既存の教会の中にも芽生えています。

This quarter again, I feel that God continues to let us see Nagoya as “a city full of hidden spiritual potential.” While the rhythms of tradition and industry shape this city, quiet movements of renewal are also taking place in individuals. God is allowing both local leaders—Japanese and foreign—to envision how the gospel might take deeper root in this land. This is sprouting not only in newly planted churches but also within existing ones.

この四半期、名古屋インキュベーターは福音中心の学びと交わりの場として続けられました。8月は集まりがお休みでしたが、関係そのものは休止することなく、祈りの課題や励ましの分かち合いが続きました。 今期も気づかされていることの一つは、インターナショナル教会からの参加が多い一方で、日本の伝統的な教会からの参加者が非常に少ないという現実です。その気づきを受けて『キリスト教年鑑2025』(キリスト新聞社)を開いてみると、東海地区（愛知・岐阜・三重・静岡）には実に多くの伝統的な教会が存在していることに改めて驚かされました。祈りながら、神様からこう問われていると感じています。「新しい教会(多くの場合はインターナショナル教会)だけでなく、既存の教会、歴史ある日本の教会、地方の教会に、あなたはどのように仕えていきたいですか？　今あなたたちの手に与えられているビジョンやリソースは何ですか？　それらをどのように活用して、彼らに仕え、彼らへの祝福となりたいですか？」

During this quarter, the Nagoya Incubator continued to serve as a space for gospel-centered learning and fellowship. Although we took a break from gatherings in August, the relationships themselves did not pause—prayer requests and encouragement continued to be shared. One realization this quarter is the noticeable imbalance: while many participants come from international churches, there are very few from traditional Japanese churches. This prompted me to open the Christian Yearbook 2025 (published by Kirisuto Shimbunsha), and I was once again surprised by how many traditional churches exist in the Tokai region (Aichi, Gifu, Mie, Shizuoka). In prayer, I sense God asking: “How do you want to serve not only new churches (often international ones), but also existing churches, historic Japanese churches, and rural churches? What vision and resources have been entrusted to you now? How will you use them to serve and be a blessing to these churches?”

CTCJが名古屋でインキュベーターを通して継続的に存在していることは、牧師やリーダーたちにとって確かな励ましとなっています。この集まりを支え、フォローし、安心して分かち合える場を提供することで、信頼と福音による一致が少しずつ育まれています。 今期は、2024年の京都で行われたインテンシブ以降、会うことができなかった二人の教会リーダーたちに会うことができました。彼らの喜び、祈祷課題を傾聴し、一緒に祈る特権と機会を得ることができました。 また日本の伝統的な教会や地方教会の牧師やリーダーとどのように関係を築いていけるかを祈り始めました。まずは愛知県にある教会の牧師やリーダーたちに連絡を取り始め、私たちが彼らにどのようにお仕えすることができるか、祝福となることができるかを傾聴することからはじめています。CTCJの祈りは、押しつけるのではなく、耳を傾け、励まし、あらゆる文脈において福音が持つ刷新の力を共に見上げていくことです。

CTCJ’s continued presence in Nagoya through the Incubator has been a steady source of encouragement for pastors and leaders. By supporting and following up with this gathering, and providing a safe space for sharing, trust and gospel-centered unity are gradually being cultivated. This quarter, I was able to meet with two church leaders whom I hadn’t seen since the 2024 Intensive in Kyoto. It was a privilege and joy to listen to their stories and prayer needs, and to pray together. Also this quarter, we began praying about how to build relationships with pastors and leaders of traditional and rural churches in Japan. We’ve started by reaching out to pastors and leaders of churches in Aichi Prefecture, beginning with listening—how we might serve them, and how we might be a blessing to them. CTCJ’s prayer is not to impose, but to listen, encourage, and together look to the renewing power of the gospel in every context.

名古屋で「シティ・カタリスト」として働く中で、この街には静かに霊的な動きが起こっていることに気づくようになりました。
神様は、牧師や宣教師、リーダーたちの間に関係を少しずつ築き、信頼と協力のネットワークを形づくっておられます。
今期、神様は私たちに、名古屋を単なる伝統と産業の街としてではなく、一致と学びを通して霊的に成長できる豊かな土地として見なすよう導いておられると感じています。
As I serve as a City Catalyst in Nagoya, I’ve come to see the city as a place of quiet spiritual momentum. God is gently weaving relationships among pastors, missionaries, and leaders, creating a network of trust and collaboration. This quarter, I sense God leading us to see Nagoya not just as a city of tradition and industry, but as fertile ground for spiritual growth through unity and shared learning.

2025年2月に名古屋インキュベーターに参加して以来、福音に根ざした成長の兆しをいくつも見てきました。それ以前には、牧師や宣教師が集まるハブミーティングに参加する機会があり、これらの集まりとインキュベーターは、学び、祈り、そして交わりの場として用いられています。
Since joining the Nagoya Incubator in February 2025, I’ve witnessed encouraging signs of gospel-centered growth. Prior to the incubator, I had the opportunity to attend several hub meetings—gatherings of pastors and missionaries. These meetings, along with the incubator, have become spaces for learning, prayer, and fellowship.

現在、10の教会から23名がインキュベーターに参加しており、その多様性と一致は、神様が教派を越えてリーダーたちを結びつけてくださっていることの現れです。関係は深まり、信頼も少しずつ育まれています。
Currently, 23 participants from 10 different churches are engaging in the incubator. This diversity and unity reflect God’s work in bringing leaders together across denominational lines. The relationships formed are deepening, and trust is growing steadily.

今期の大きな出来事の一つは、City to City Japan（CTCJ）を代表して東海福音フェローシップ（TEF）に参加したことです。TEFは、東海地域の教会に仕える約70名の福音派牧師とリーダーによるネットワークで、年に一度、交わりや励まし合い、近況の分かち合いのために集まっています。
A significant development this quarter was my participation in the Tokai Evangelical Fellowship (TEF), representing City to City Japan (CTCJ). TEF is a regional network of approximately 70 evangelical pastors and leaders from local churches in the Tokai area. It meets once a year for informal fellowship, mutual encouragement, and “checking in” with one another.

今回、初めてTEFに参加しました。集まりの中で、既存メンバーのうち2人に推薦をお願いしました。お二人の支援のおかげで、私は正式にTEFのメンバーとして受け入れられました。この参加は、CTCJにとって大きな意味を持っています。
This was my first time attending TEF, and during the gathering, I asked two existing members to sponsor me. Thanks to their support, I was officially accepted as a member of TEF. This membership carries strategic significance for CTCJ:

関係づくりの面での前進：TEFの多くのメンバーはまだCTCJを知らないため、メンバーになることで、東海地域の牧師やリーダーたちとの関係を築くきっかけとなります。これは、2026年のインテンシブに向けた協力の土台にもなります。
Relational Access: Most TEF members are not yet familiar with CTCJ. Becoming a member allows me to begin building relationships with pastors and leaders in the Tokai region, laying the groundwork for future collaboration—especially in preparation for the 2026 Intensive.

災害対応の連携：TEFでは、東海地域の災害対応ネットワークの構築が進められており、参加者の中にはこの取り組みに共感して参加した方もいます。自然災害の多い日本において、このネットワークに加わることで、CTCJは地域教会と連携しながら、物理的にも霊的にも迅速に支援を届けることができます。
Disaster Response Collaboration: TEF is actively developing a disaster response network for the Tokai region, and some participants have mentioned that this initiative is one of the main reasons they chose to join TEF.As Japan is prone to natural disasters, being part of this network enables CTCJ to respond quickly and effectively in partnership with local churches, addressing both physical and spiritual needs.

5月12日のTEFの集まりで、CTCJのビジョンと活動を2ページの資料を使って紹介する時間をいただきました。CTCJを新しい方々に紹介できる、めったにない貴重な機会でした。私は20名の牧師やリーダーに直接ご挨拶し、名古屋インキュベーターに少し興味を持ってくださった6名に招待メールを送りました。これは、今後の関わりのための種まきとなる第一歩でした。
During the TEF gathering on May 12th, I was given a few minutes to present CTCJ’s vision and activities using a two-page handout. This was a rare and valuable opportunity to introduce CTCJ to a new audience. I personally greeted 20 pastors and leaders and sent an invitation email to six who expressed a little interest in the Nagoya Incubator. This was the first step in sowing seeds for future engagement.

また、現在インキュベーターに参加している3つの教会の牧師が、最近TEFにも参加し始めたことも嬉しいニュースです。この重なりは、CTCJのビジョンや活動が口コミで広がっていることを示しており、CTCJの働きがこの地域でさらに広がっていく可能性を感じさせます。
It’s also worth noting that three pastors currently participating in the Nagoya Incubator have recently begun attending TEF. This overlap is encouraging, as it suggests that the vision and activities of CTCJ is spreading through word of mouth. It may lead to further expansion of CTCJ’s work in the region.

名古屋シティ・カタリストとしての働きを通して、私はインキュベーターに集まる方々をウェルカムし、運営を支え、参加者のフォローや質問・ニーズへの対応を行ってきました。CTCJが定期的に集会を提供していることは、地域のリーダーたちにとって大きな励ましとなり、福音を中心に学び、祈り、交わりを築く場となっています。
"Through the Nagoya City Catalyst role, I’ve been able to welcome and facilitate the incubator gatherings, follow up with participants, and support their questions and needs. CTCJ’s consistent presence and provision of regular meetings have been a source of encouragement, helping local leaders learn, pray, and build community around the gospel.

また、異なる教会の牧師2名と個別に会い、祈り合い、互いの声に耳を傾ける時間を持つことができました。こうした関わりを通して、個人的な悩みや教会の課題に寄り添いながら、信頼が深まり、霊的な励ましを分かち合うことができました。
Additionally, I’ve had opportunities to meet individually with two pastors from different churches for times of prayer and mutual listening. These conversations have allowed me to walk alongside them in both personal and church-related challenges, deepening trust and offering spiritual encouragement.

TEFにCTCJの代表として参加したことで、新たな関係づくりや認知度の向上、協力の可能性が広がりました。TEFのメンバーとなったことで、CTCJは地域の広いネットワークの一部となり、2026年のインテンシブや災害対応など、今後の働きに向けた重要な土台が築かれています。
My participation in TEF as a CTCJ representative has opened new doors for engagement, visibility, and collaboration. Becoming a member of TEF means that CTCJ is now part of a broader regional network, which will be essential for future initiatives like the 2026 Intensive and potential disaster response efforts.

東京と大阪の間に位置する名古屋は、可能性に満ちた都市であるにもかかわらず、見過ごされがちです。トヨタ自動車の本拠地であり、陶磁器や木工などの伝統工芸の中心地でもあります。
Situated between Tokyo and Osaka, Nagoya is a city rich with potential, yet it is often overlooked. Renowned for its innovation, the city is home to Toyota and is a centre for traditional crafts like ceramics and woodworking.

今期、神様は名古屋が霊的刷新と協力のための豊かな土地であることを示してくださいました。名古屋や三重、京都の様々な背景を持つ牧師たちがインキュベーター・セッションに集い、経験を分かち合い、新鮮な学びの機会を通して互いのミニストリーを豊かにしています。また、City to City Japanと長い付き合いのある教会が、トレーニングのためにチームを連れてきて、互いに学び合おうとしているのを目の当たりにしています。教会開拓がチームを訓練し、そのチームが実践的なプロジェクトに取り組む準備ができ、それぞれの教会に戻っていくのを見るのは喜びです。神は名古屋で働かれ、神の目的を追求するために多様なコミュニティのタペストリーを織りなしておられるかのようです。
This quarter, God has led us to see Nagoya as fertile ground for spiritual renewal and collaboration. Pastors from various backgrounds within Nagoya, as well as from Mie and Kyoto, are coming together at our Incubator sessions, enriching one another's ministries through shared experiences and fresh learning opportunities. We are witnessing churches long associated with City to City Japan bringing their teams for training, eager to learn from one another. It is a joy to help church planters equip their teams and then see those teams return to their congregations ready to implement practical projects. God is at work in Nagoya, weaving together a diverse tapestry of communities in pursuit of His purpose.
